Renee Gurnsey – General Manager

Renee started working for Green Scapes Inc. in 1993 mowing lawns for her older brother as a summer job, never dreaming that she would still be here after all of these years!

As the years went on and the business grew, she grew right along with it. When Todd stumbled upon mulch for the first time and learned what a great product it was, they started installing it for homeowners. Then came the great idea… why not sell the homeowners the mulch and let them put it in themselves? The rest is history.

It all started with a couple of old pickup trucks, a very old beat up tractor, one pile of mulch, and a couple of pitchforks. Plus some back breaking labor! You probably all know what it has grown into, every landscape material imaginable, and a fleet of trucks.

Instead of mowing and raking leaves, Renee became the one and only office girl. Answering phones, taking orders, arranging deliveries, and loading trucks! She fondly became known as the “mulch girl.” The boys? They moved on to larger and more challenging projects.

The company has grown leaps and bounds throughout the years, and now running the “shop” means all the same old tasks, as well as managing a whole crew of drivers, operators, and laborers. All while keeping our customers happy. From a lawn mower and a truck, one pile of mulch to way to many, Renee has enjoyed being a part of it all.
